Just found a set of photos (paper) made by my grandfather, in the 1960s, in Mozambique.

I have scanned many of them, without any postproduction, and posted on my Smugmug gallery.

This finding made me think:
1. I spend too much time thinking about gear - my grandfather made this with the gear of the time (I believe with an Yashica SLR) and they are splendid (to my eyes at least). Regardless of lack of sharpness, imprecise focus, etc. these images are interesting (at least to me).
2. Printing photos is important - there is no way these would have survived all these years in digital format inside an hard drive.

Wow, great photo !!! Just goes to show you that the gear is not as important as subject and techique.

    Good point about printing...

    Cheers

Amazing shots, all of them, like something out of an old National Geographics issue. thumb.gif

    AMAZING images! What a treasure!

Thank you so much for two things:
    #1 -- for sharing
#2 -- for reminding me of the importance of printing... I've been so concerned about backups and RAID drives and space, I seem to have forgotten the basics...

    THANK YOU!
    Blessings,
