Lightroom Support for Two Monitors?

I am taking/selling photos at a Halloween Party. Last year I suffled memory cards and knew there was a better way.

I heard that Ligthroom 1.4 does not support 2 monitors but Lightroom 3 does. Can someone confirm this?

I want to use one monitor for acquiring photos from the camera via USB and the other monitor for running an up to date slide show. Can I do this with Lightroom 3.0?

There is no LR 3. There is LR 2.5 though.

I just downloaded the demo so I'm FAR from an expert, but it does support dual monitors. To what extent I can't tell you. All I know is I was able to do 2 different things, one on each monitor.

There is no Lightroom 3 yet. Lightroom 2 has support for different views on multiple monitors, like the grid on monitor 2 and image editing on monitor 1. However, it is not as flexible as Photoshop, and you can't do what you are asking. You get one Lightroom task viewed on both monitors. If you are importing, the modal dialog would be up and nothing else could go on until you begin the import, at that point it will import in the background and you can do something else. If you are running the slide show you can't use the rest of the program because any action will stop the slide show. In your situation, you should use separate software to run a slide show of the same files on the second monitor while you use Lightroom on the first.
