Hard times financially prompted by sister-in-law to ask me to do my nephews senior class photos. Getting a smile out of this young man is next to impossible. Pointers for improvement are always appreciated.

I think you did a nice job on these. In #3 he looks a little intense, but I contend that it's usually best not to have your subjects looking right into the sun, cuz you will usually get uncomfortable looks. Good job getting him to crack a smile! thumb.gif

Thanks for sharing! Again, great composition. The first one is nice and he's smiling again (yay!), the 2nd one has a blue hue, but that can be corrected easily in RAW by selecting either the "shade" or "cloudy" function to warm it up or by using fill flash, like you did on some of the others. :) Nice shots though.

Hmmm. Forcing someone to smile gets you...a forced smile.:D I say let him not smile. And maybe looking down the barrel of a camera makes him uncomfortable? If you're going to reshoot, try getting his focus on something else. Just a thought.

I think that I'd try to hide his chin - using a pose with hand hiding part of it or so. Also the 3/4 or profile could be used here.
    Anyway, good work!

Thank you. I am not sure if I will be reshooting or not at this point. His mother is still looking at the proofs. Also it is a 50 mile drive, Time will soon tell.

Thank you Yuri. usually do take 3/4 and profile shots but did not even think about doing it this time. OOPS real mental lapse there. bowdown.gif
