Anyone have two smugmug accounts?

Hello,

I'd like to keep my personal and family photos up on my existing Standard smugmug account, but I also would like to start a second/new Pro account for my upstart photography business.

Are others finding this a reasonable approach, or is there a better way?

Does smugmug offer any sort of discount program for customers with more than one account? If not, I guess I can just refer myself to the pro account and get the referral credit???

Thanks
-Chris D.

I have two accounts, one for family and one for the sports teams and service organizations I shoot. It is the cleanest way to separate different photos/viewing audiences.

Smugmug has no special deal that I'm aware of for two accounts, but you can use your own referral from your first account. If you have enough referral credits on your first account, you can even gift yourself the second account based on them.

    Thanks!

Yeah, I bet SmugMug could upsell more Pro accounts if they offered a heavily discounted "sidekick" Standard account for isolating personal photos. I mean, what Pro doesn't also want to share his or her personal photos with family and friends?

Instead of having two accounts, you can simply hide galleries that you don't want accessed from that URL, and have some sort of static page that links to those galleries that would be another site.

That will work, but then you have to manually maintain that custom page, can't use search or keywords on the hidden galleries, can't use categories to organize, have to share the same domain name between the two groups so viewers of the private galleries will easily see the public galleries on the same domain.

True, there are some drawbacks. But it's a cheaper solution. thumb.gif

Wait days? write our Support Heroes, there's no need to wait to gift yourself an account and get a discount.
