Problem Replacing an Image

Tried two times to replace an image this morning...both times got the message that their was a problem. Here's the link:

Hi Rae,

I just tested and was able to upload a replacement photo to my test account. Can you tell me what browser this was in? Have you tried again this afternoon? I just want to make sure it was not a temporary issue.

Also was this from the gallery replace tool or in an order?

Also, is the replacing image < 24mb? And under 48Megapixels, and in sRGB Colorspace?

Hi Doc

Just tried it again with the same result. I'm using gallery replace tool to replace a picture I renamed. Browser is Firefox 3.5.3. Otherwise the image is about 6 meg and is the same image originally uploaded...just a new name.

Any special characters etc in the new name that might be causing problems? Does the photo upload normally to a test gallery?

The plot thickens! No special characters, just "Skagway Street Car". I did try again and noticed that the filename had changed in the gallery. Tried replacing again and got same message but the filename in gallery again changed. The photo must be replacing but I'm getting an error message from the replacement tool. I also did a straight upload of the photo and it went through with no problems.

I've been experiencing problems with replacing photos since last night's maintenance as well. I tried replacing photos using Jeff's LR Export to SmugMug plug-in and there's always that one photo in the middle that fails to upload to SmugMug (it returns the SmugMug connection failed error message). I tried manually uploading some of them via the SmugMug web interface and sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't... I made sure that the file size did not exceed 12 mbs.

Viv and Rae,

Can you both try creating an unlisted gallery so that your visitors do not see i. Then upload these photos to it. I need to make sure that you are able to upload the file. The replace function is now working for me so I am not sure what is going on. It may be a connection issue that is blocking the replace from getting the file.

I can upload without problems, but replacing causes problems intermittently.
Also, sometimes it claims that the replace failed but it actually succeeded.

Hi Doc

Sorry for the delay...we're in Vegas soaking up the sun and fun! Did as you requested and the image uploaded fine. I then tried replacing it with a different image and that worked as well.
