Hello Phil,
Thanks for looking and the comment. I am experimenting with a home-made flash bracket, diffusor, and off-brand flash.
The photo has no PP, only a resize. When you say "soft", what is needed to make the photo better?
I am still on the steep side of the learning curve, so any suggestions would be great.
Here is another from today, what do think?

Both do look slightly soft but it may be lack of PP.

Thank you for the comment, I am using your focusing method, a pole and sway, starting to get the hang of it. Seems, I always see the most interesting insects in the hardest to photograph places.
Will try some PP, another learning curve.
