Photos that "glow"...

Seems like a lot of wedding and engagement photos have a "glow" to them, with loads of light/highlights. Can someone give me advice on how to achieve this in Lightroom? Thanks

Lower the clarity setting!

Lightroom does not offer layers or a Gaussian blur, so as the previous poster suggested, the only real option I am aware of is negative Clairity in fairly large doses.

Thanks, I do have Photoshop too. I will look up about Gaussian blur. I am getting through a book slowly about Photoshop... hard when I work so much at my "real" job!

The "glow" is made using a Gaussian blur but it takes more steps than that.

However, since you have Photoshop, Google for some tutorials that exploit the "Orton Effect"; that's what you're looking for. Here's one to get you started:

Also, there's the distort/diffuse glow filter... I prefer it to just gaussian blur. You'll want to experiment with the blending mode, too - "screen" is usually a good one to try.
