Soggy Cascades

Despite the certain forecasts for rain in the Cascades, I foolishly set out for a hike. Forecasts were spot on with steady rain which soaked everything I had. I had to cut my hike short due to thunder & lightning so there isn't a cohesive theme to these photos (other than being taken today!).

Nice colors.
I stopped and shot some today after fishing, gotta love are fall colors.

Sorry you had to cut your hike short, you got some nice photos. It figures the forecasters would be on that day, they can be so off so many times. I really like the perspective in #2 and the splash of red in #4.

Man if that isn't a set emblematic of the northwest in mid autumn I don't know what is! At least we're getting some rain this October last year it seemed pretty dry.

My favorites are #1, #2, and #4, but it's a really good set overall.

Gorgeous! And I agree, Kelsey's idea from shooting inside the tree is a GREAT idea to switch up the perspective. I love it

True, I did have to cut my hike short but it did give me more time to explore on my way home. I saw so much that I returned today and shot a lot more in the river valleys. It's going to take me a day or two to cull through and process some photos.

nice set, Steve... hope the gear didn't get wet... i really like that flash of red in #4, and i just love the depth, the layers, and the misty, moody feel of #7... nice.

Great series. Nice job on #2 especially, although I wonder what it would look like in HDR. Love the northwest in the fall.

I could process #2 as an HDR but I think that would reduce the log's effectiveness as a scene framing object..

Excellent series to portray your part of the country--all very well done! My faves are 6 and 7--I really like the context of the fog and mist. And that log shot is exceptional! I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work!
