Paris: Iron and Ivy, Shadows and Light

Early this season I took a brief trip across seas to visit a good friend in Europe. I've already posted the shots from the castle that we explored but here are a few images from our jaunt to Paris.
As an American, I am so astounded that so many different countries and cultures are just a train ride away!
(Just a note: on this trip I only brought two lenses and they were both wide. That's the last time I ever make that mistake because holy omnipresent distortion, Batman! )
L'Arc de Triumphe
1)
2)
Sweet light at the Louvre:
3)
4)
5)
Le Basilique du Sacré-Cœur
6)
And Montmartre, which is probably one of my favorite places in Paris:
7)
8)
9)
10) This woman struck me because she looked as though her world was ending:
Les Invalides
11)
12)
And of course, Le Tour Eiffel:
13)
14)
15)
16)
17)
Maybe some of these would be better in Journeys, but I balk at the thought of how much typing I'd have to do for that. :lol3 More later as I get to them, I hope.
(Feedback always welcome!)

Alright, that makes it a lot easier. The ones I really really like are 1-17.
OK, now that I've looked at these again 2, 3, 8, 14, and 17 are my favorites, but they're all great. Great eye - and not just the compositions, but in finding the subjects that a lot of people (including myself) would overlook.

Love particularly the looking-upward pattern shots from both Triumphe and Eiffel.
Excellent!
#15 really sticks out to me as amazing.

Great work here.
Specifically:
3 is a great composition and use of angles
5 is just plain awesome with great light and capturing the sun star AND cyclists!
8 is very cool in IR - makes me wonder what those leaves looked like in 'real life'
9 is a great piece of detail work which you seem to excel at - I still remember a shot from the WWII memorial that I never would have seen
17 is my favorite of the whole lot though - great street scene and wonderful placement of the Eiffel tower out of its more typical presentations.

As for the exposures, a lot of these was just hand blending frames in CS4. Vive le Photoshop!
