I'm still looking through my shots, trying to find some good ones. They are far and few between.
Maybe when I get to Kate's shots, I'll find some gems.
We got to one spot before the shootout, cause I had to work 2 more days than I thought I was going to.
The one lighthouse on the way to Bar Harbor.
(I don't know the name of it, it was in South Portland)
The first morning on Cadillac Mountain in the clouds.
After the sun came out, we found a small stream.
The next few shots are from the Whale Watch that had no whales.
Can you find the wildlife in this shot?
A couple of seal shots with the sun on the wrong side of them.
We left the park and went north to Baxter State Park looking for moose. We didn't find any.
But, once again, we found a very fast moving stream.
From there, things got ugly. Rain, wind and cooler temps were the norm.
We were on a search for covered bridges. With the rain coming down, I think I took shots
with the 5DMKII at one local, the rest on the time I used a P&S.
I still have more shots to go through, but I'm thinking that these, and the ones I put in eoren's thread
are about as good as it gets for me.
I have looked at everyone else's shots and was very impressed.
You folks see the shot way better than I do.
We had a ball again this year, my regret is not spending more time with the folks I hadn't met before.
Next year, I'll fix that.
Time to start saving for the next one.
See ya later.

Love that first shot, it is at Portland Head Lighthouse. We were running a few hours ahead of you, I have pictures of the storm clouds closing in on the lighthouse. I felt so bad when Ann came back from the whale watch and said you didn't see any wildlife. You usually at least see some porpoise and some eagles out of Bar Harbor, maybe that is just in the summertime.

I might be wrong but it looks like you have two different types of seals. An elephant seal and a harbor seal.

I know the one seal is a harbor seal, the other I'm not so sure of.
Did I forget about Niagara Falls?
Once again the weather was bad, we went to the Canadian side to spend the night.
Over an hour wait to cross the border, directions to a hotel from someone who doesn't
know the difference between north and south, charged $12 to park in the hotel's parking lot,
and the web site saying that they are 2 blocks from the falls when they're actually 1/2 mile or more
from them.
Yeah I won't be heading back to that place anytime soon.
A few really bad shots cause of the weather. (or because I'm a crummy photog)
Thanks again for looking.

I believe that top photo is just a bull gray seal, Dixie. We don't have wild elephant seals in Maine. In fact, we've only been able to document resident colonies of grays since 1994. How great that you got to see some!

Was wondering where your work was, as I did not see it in the crits. You have a great eye

You do not give yourself enough credit. You have some wonderful shots and you do have a good eye for composition. I don't see how anyone could beat those first three shots--really well done! I especially like the stream in #3. I also like your B&W in the Niagara series--excellent conversion and a good subject.
I, too, hope to spend more time talking with folks next year. i talked with Kate a little but I don't think I did with you. So . . . see ya next time!

Foxie, the seals ID, yep, it's a grey. Kate remembered that for the boat tour, I didn't.
Marc, I had a card on the table, but wasn't selected.:cry
With that, I'm sailing off into the sunrise.
Later.

Dave,
Awsome stuff!!! The rainbow shot is off the charts!!! Great job on all.
Why Marc blames me for everything is beyond my wildest dreams... Like missing his flight home. Again, I'm sure it was somehow my fault But after all it was his B-Day
It was great to see you again, and I will make sure your card is first from now on!
good job!
