Standard screen sizes

I have some friends at church who want some of my images for desktop wallpaper. In order to have the entire image on the screen I'm told I need to resize for the screen size. what are the standard screen sizes in pixels that I would need to resize the images to in order to be covered for all types of screens?

Fred, I would probably only supply a single version at a large resolution of say 1600x1200 and let the other person's graphics card deal with the issue. Some may go for 1920x1200.
I am not sure if I could be bothered offering many different sizes, I guess it depends on the quality vs. how generous you feel!

I agree with Stephen but might add a size like 2048x1152 to handle the new 16:9 displays that are becoming more popular out there.
