What can I say?--like everyone else around here, I've been crazy busy. I just had my new logo design delivered, and I've been furiously working on updating my site and blog. So take a look here if you want to see it: Pittsburgh Wedding Photography Blog

In the meantime, I just finished editing this e-shoot. It was bitter cold (for the season) here last week, but the couple was absolutely wonderful! C&C welcome!

    very cool!

I can barely see the logo/watermark though :(

Can you post it separate from a photo?

Oh! Very pretty photos AND logo. Actually *realllly* like your logo!! I'd say make it a bit smaller but stronger, so people can read your name & can find you :D

Yeah, still working on my watermarking...I will make it stronger...thanks for that suggestion!

And here's the logo by itself:

Actually seeing it like this, you might want to try to versions, one with the bird & writing in black, and an other version where it's in white. I have 2 color versions for my logo too (even though I mostly use the white one), and just keep the color version for your website, letters & blog ....

Reall, really like it though! ... Just my opinion :Dthumb.gif

great shots! and i nice logo but i agree with Agneska about the black and white, the colored logo, especcialy being so transparent really throws the image off by having a tinge of a color over parts. also if you are going to make it stronger i would really hope you will make it smallerthumb.gif

I know it's not readily apparent, but there isn't any black in my logo...that dark color is actually brown! And my graphic designer actually gave me 4 different color options to match the seasons, which I thought was neat. My main color, though, will be blue.

And as for the watermark, right now I've just been using the smugmug watermark feature...so I'll have to figure out how to make it smaller or implement a different method for the photos I post to my blog.

Thanks for all of the suggestions, though! It really helps me see where I need to make changes!

Oh yeah, I'm sorry, I must have not explained my thoughts right .... I would use a b&w version if I would use it as a watermark and keep the color version for anything else, like website and any other place where you need a logo .... (love the colors ... again, just my thoughts)

Ahhh, gotchya. That does make sense...I'll keep working on it!

def. need to refine your watermarking. I saw the color on some of the pics and thought it was part of the image till I saw it in a few later shots

I really like your progression and variety. I really wish I could think a lot more this way. I'm always so concerned about the technical lighting aspects of portraits that I miss out on a lot of the moments/detail stuff. The shot of just the legs down is an example of this, and my favorite shot. The stuff on the columns I'm not so hot on. Is this at a Carnegie house or Chatham or what? It is a great location.

Lovely work, though I barely notice the logo when I'm looking at the photos, it almost is like it's not even there. Probably want to work on making it more noticeable (without being intrusive of course)

    1 3 and 7 for me.
Some really nice shots in this series. 7 is my favorite, what a beautiful setting for a photo shoot.
    Well done!!

Will do! And I definitely agree...I think I'm going to try Angie's suggestion.

Thanks Blurmore! That really means a lot! The columns shot was never my idea...but once one couple did and other saw it, it has become a popular request. I see it as just something fun...and it usually loosens up the nerves because it's hard to be worried about a camera when you're trying to climb up a column! The venue is Hartwood Acres, a mansion north of Pittsburgh.

    great work
    Mary,
As always, great work! I love all the pics for different reasons-- you have such a great mix of shots-- I think you have a real strength in your ability to offer such variety. I could see Them choosing 1 for the newspaper e shot, 4 b/c they had so much fun doing it, 5 for the old school romance of it, 6 because it sizzles, etc. Very cool. --Lisa
