#35 - second picture: the use of the shallow depth of field and the mist really gives it almost a stereoscopic feel - I get drawn into it.

    Very nice job! thumb.gif

    Historic Yates Mill
Double Take (or maybe... Mirror Image)

    703974806_qAYCc-M.jpg

This was taken a little later in the day than I'd hoped. If you live in the Raleigh, NC area, taking pictures of the mill is a must. Whether it be the water wheel (not pictured) when it's running or a view from somewhere around the mill pond.

I'd love to improve upon this by getting a bluer sky but maintaining the reflection. Maybe HDR would do that for me.

    Thanks for looking,
    Maryann

I literally caught my breath when I saw these. Amazing! bowdown.gif

    Here is my humble submission.

    1. Äiti's Barn (This was built on our family homestead in the 1920's by a Finnish carpenter in the upper peninsula of Michigan. I don't remember exactly how to spell his last name, but it was literally translated "carpenter from the East".)

OK, I know these still need some work, which I'll try to get in before 9 tonight... These were all taken with the P&S back in the day:

    1. Brno, Czech Republic (I know the quality isn't that great, but I just love the figures in the architecture)

    2. Plzen, Czech Republic (Used to live here. Pilsner beer? This is where it comes from! This is part of the secondary train station in town at sunset.)
