How to register domain

I want to register a domain name through register.com (namebargain.com).
  1. smugmug doesn't have DNS servers you can use so you must use the ones your domain registrar provides (or your own, if you have them).
  2. You are directing the CNAME record you create for your domain to www.smugmug.com.
Recently register.com have changed all there accounts, what was shown on the Big 4 help file is now different at smugmug. It says use CName instead but register.com does not have that. Would i need to do URL forwarding. Anyhelp would be great thanks.
