Howdy All,

A little starter on the Trip itself, Karen, my My Wonderful Wife, had been wanting to visit Nova Scotia for a number of years, her interest was peaked with her Genealogy into her Acadian Roots. She spent over a year working the trip every day to nail down every detail, and all I can say is all of her hard work and planning rewarded “Us” both with a Trip to Remember, now on to the Trip Details.

Our next day took us to Annapolis Royal for two nites at the Hillsdale House Inn. We stopped in Digby again this time to eat lunch at the Fundy Restaurant (wonderful scallops & clams). Since it was one of our favorite web cam locations, we called a friend and he was able to capture the picture of us. While in Annapolis Royal we visited the Historic Gardens, Fort Anne, Port Royal, did the Graveyard tour & enjoyed walking around town. We ate at the Coffee House (good pizza), Ye Olde Towne Pub & the Compose Café (another one of our top meals).

One of the Highlights of our Trip was the Graveyard Tour at Fort Anne, being led by Alan Melanson, he and Karen were related 10 Generations back their Great, Great, Great........ Grand Fathers were Brothers<g> What a wonderful experience this was, and was so informative and enjoyable we almost went back the next night but was so full from a great dinner at Compote' Restaurant.

We stayed 2 nights in Annapolis Royal at the Hilldale House Inn, it was really a very nice and relaxing place to stay, the Owners were so nice and friendly, and really made the stay extra special.

What a wonderful trip Craig, and how special for Karen to be able to meet a relative so far removed both geographically and geneologically. Thanks for sharing.

    Best Regards

Glad you enjoyed your sojourn to the Maritimes. (I live in New Brunswick - just across the Bay from Digby) The place is steeped in history throughout as well as some fantastic scenery.

Most people have heard of the major attractions (Peggy's Cove, The Cabot Trail, etc.) but just off the beaten path are places equally as beautiful and interesting without the commercialism you find in the more popular spots.

I'd encourage any visiting the region to explore and experiment. It's a friendly placeiloveyou.gif

    Howdy Ceci,

Appreciate the kind reply and comments, We can't wait to get back up there and are really looking forward to seeing NB and NF.

That is one of the things that we love about travelling is how much we learn about the places we are going to visit, and even the places we think we are familiar with there are always new and interesting places to see and visit.

    Thanks again,

    Take Care,
