    Organ Pipe
    Dan-

Hey this is a great shot. I have always wanted to get down to Organ Pipe for some shots - how it is?

This one is a great perspective and nice composition.

This is nice Dan. The side lighting adds depth and texture to the image. The green contrasts nicely with the deep blue sky. The pano crop works nicely here.

Actually, I was quite disappointed Dave. Hardly any organ pipe cactus, and the good trail was closed during sunrise. This is the only shot that was worth showing, and I had all I could do to make it decent.

However, I'm going to Moab in a couple of days wings.gif

I cannot stand national parks/monuments that are "closed" at certain hours for no real reason (real reasons include: avalanche danger, roads washed out, huge amounts of transient or seasonal snowfall, wildlife protection, etc.). If you can get there at 9 AM you should be able to be there at 6 AM or 2 AM or whatever.

Anyway, like the shot! Didn't mean to rant so much in your post :D

Great perspective and colors, Dan. Never in a million years would I have come up with a comp like that. That sucks about the park though. Have fun in Moab!!!

I like the tactile qualities of the cacti and the dominant vertical lines that add character to this beautiful scene.
Thanks for sharing this with the rest of us.thumb.gifthumb.gifthumb.gif
