      Date code?

I'm trying to figure out if you bought it 2 or 3 years ago and just left the lens in the box,
or if you bought it yesterday from some store that had one left on the shelf.

      Interested.

No need to figure; you can just ask. :) This is not "old stock". It was purchased new within the past 12 months from current production stock and has never been removed from its box.

It was made well after any internal flare issues were identified (and rectified) that affected the first few made.

      Thank you for your interest.
