The day before hurricane Dennis hit islamorada i took these.

And 1 hour before the outer bands hit, and we drove back to Miami. Dark Skies.

Photographers deal in things which are continually vanishing and when they have vanished there is no contrivance on earth which can make them come back again.

These are prett cool. I really like the gazebo shot with the bright foreground and the impending doom of the dark sky in the background.

I want to cry looking at those pictures. It's been my dream for years just to step on a tropical beach. :(

I love #3 and the last one. The only qualm I have with the last one is that the second palm tree is cropped off. But that's of no consequence, it is still my favorite of these. I LOVE the tropics.

Thanks, yes I took these shots on a normal day also but the sky looked washed out. The difference in the sky, background and foreground before the storm gave the picture some natural contrast

Yes, this is a great place and just prior to the Hurricane hitting the beaches were deserted and beach chair free. Not often you get the chance to get shots like these without the people and the clutter.thumb.gif

Wonder what it looked like after the stormsne_nau.gif

I agree the last three are the best, all of these taken with the 50mm 1.4 .

    Thanks again
