I went hiking on the trails around Buttermilk Falls all morning. I had never hiked it before, so I figured I'd try a new one, since I've hiked most of the major ones in the area, and this is one of the easier ones, which is why I haven't done it until now. Still took me hours though, because I was stopping every few feet to take pics LOL. Well here are the keepers from yesterday:

I like several of them. Numbers 6 & 7 are probable my favorites.

It a beautiful area. I love the parks around Ithaca. Its also the place that in July I slipped on some algae and severely re-injured my back.

hmm, are the pics not good, or are there just way too many? trying to figure out why there are so many views, but no posts.

#7 comp looks really good, all your "Reg" images are good stuff... dont fret about view vs. posts...

IMO, limiting the number of shots per thread and giving a discussion will draw more posts and interest.

If your looking for specific info, always point out your question.

mainly was just looking for whether or not they were technically good shots, and if not, what I could do to improve...just like all the other threads, but I can see the point that there are too many.

#7 is my fav. I could have spent all day at this spot! bowdown.gifbowbowdown.gif

I think a re-crop with less steps (use the curve of the wall) and use of the larger pool of water as the main foreground would be great(crop out a foot or more of the foreground). Check your rule of 3rds. Or landscape orientation to include the full with of steps and starting just below the large pool would be nice.

I am sure the sound of the falls would have been very distracting.
I think you should have asked your self the question, "What 1st caught your eye?'' My answer would have been the gold pool of water in the foreground. Next my eye would have gone to the steps and the stone wall. If you can go back see if you can get the gold pools and the steps up in one photo.

I am not a pro but if you can open up the darker parts of this photo without messing up the gold in the pools and white balance the falls better.I am not a fan of "HDR" but find to much darkness distracting.

Hope this helps.

Just re-looked at the photos most suffer from white balance and darkness.
See if you can brighten up the photos and white balance.
