Just a few from a few photoshoots. I have a love hate relationship with # 10, would love to hear what others think of it.

    Great shots Jacob

I see what you mean about #10, even with great bokeh it may be to busy, but still a great shot. I don't think #8 is up to the standards of the rest.

You got the whites of their eyes, context, sharpness... very nice work thumb.gif

If the board were above the jetty, I'd say keep it. Too busy and the rider gets lost in the shadows off the right side.

I'm digging them as a whole. Is this San Diego?

Hmmm ... I usually shoot at 3rd Ave with my 70/200. I'll have to try the 300 2.8 next time.

    Again nice.

they sure get air there don't they Jacob?

Wow. The SM bridge looks huge then (shows you how long it's been since I spent time in FC).

Thanks. They are amazing, I love the tricks. I have also used my 200mm f2 on the little bluff, it works really well.

I'd try B&W for number ten ... just to see what it looks like ... with some serious burning of the background.

#10 IMO the problem is that the blowout areas on the jetty are drawing the eye in, if you could burn them without losing the sharpness of the spray that would be good, but maybe cropping vertical and tight on left is the easiest option

    Nice group overall

Thanks for the idea. I gave it a try and combined another suggestion to change the orientation. What do you think?

The B&W conversion is really nice (I prefer the color).

But I think there problems with the separation of the right knee

The foreground effect of the suds in front of the bank is really neat. Now if the kiter was just above the bank....

the inclusion of the bank in the comp is a good idea and gives unique context, maybe next tell him to get more air... :D

I know, I keep telling the kiters that the need to be in better positions when I take shots. They are so inconsiderate.:D

    Wonderful!

These are probably one of the best sets of kite surfing photos that I've seen on dgrin -- crisp, clean, and with faces! And in my neck of the woods too!

Let me know if you are willing to have a kite surfing newbie come shoot with you. ear.gif
