It's a cool shot -- kinda reminds me of an Orwellian Big Brother -- not sure if I get a creepy vibe from it tho. ne_nau.gif

    I like this, it's different.

I think if the eyes were more in focus it would be much creepier, right now they are too shaded--I can see they are there, and when I concentrate on them and squint, well it is a little frightening.

Can you do something to bring out the eyes?

Thank you all for your comments. I can definitely see the Big Brother thing. Liz, I can't really get the eyes more in focus. It's actually a picture of a charcoal self-portrait I did about 20 years ago.

I'm trying to do this creepy "mask"-type thing, so I've been playing around in PS some.

    Any thoughts on this one?

    No eyes is always creepy.

What about a black void for the mouth? I'm getting the Tragedy Mask vs. Comedy Mask vibe from the overall shape. Maybe a little tilt to the head?

Wow! Awesome SP then! and even more disturbing:D .

I really like this second one--I opt for keeping the tongue otherwise it is the comedy v tragedy thing. The tongue just adds a weird twist, which is good IMO.

Now that you told me the first one is a SP I keep going back to it--very cool.

As mentioned, empty eyes are always creepy. I'm with the "keep the tongue" crowd. Might try seeing what turning it dark would look like. More purple/black could be creepy, no?

    Good shot.

I really like this image (#1) a lot. I don't get "creepy" from it though.

Thanks for the C&C. Didn't really like the mask idea, so I went a totally different way with it. Below is the original, and below that is the contest entry. Hope I have acheived the desired darkness and emotional power I was going for.

    :D
