hello again, some more shots.
any thoughts? i want to hear them..

still uncomfortable with pointing the camera at strangers, but im out there.
i wasnt looking for great backrounds/compositions, just snapshots really.
using my 50mm 1.4 so some croping on a few.

posting just three plates here, i dont want to bore you with the whole thing.
if you stretch your imagination, this is PJ? documentary? or am i slightly out of focus?

A number of thoughts:
1. Stop with the out-of-focus crap. Sorry, but...
2. No 8 is definitely the winner in the second batch; terrific image. Although 9 is quite whimsical and lovely.
3. Far and away the winner here is the final series - and I shouldn't have to point out how far removed it is from what I do and usually like. It is very, very strong. It has absolutely nothing to do with photo journalism or documentary photography or street photography; it is art photography, and it is very good art photography. I like the images - and here the out of focus stuff really works, because, a., it's in focus enough so that we know what we're seeing; b. the use of the out-of-focus gives it a dream-like quality; and c., it's part of a larger story. I really can't stress how much I like this.

about the texture stuff, its really easy (if you got photoshop).
download the textures (or take a photo of a scratchy surface, old window etc..)
1.put the texture-shot in a layer over a picture.
2.click the layers drop-down menu, select "overlay", the default usualy says "normal"
3.thats it!... if the texture-layer seem too overwhelming, simply adjust the opacity.
play around with it.

When I looked at the first few shots, I thought: “Winter Olympics start in February. Photo one reminds me of luge (or is that the skeleton?), photo two of ski-jumping. “
I’ll skip to the final series. I really like the use of ten photos to show the story. You showed motion and caught her great expressions. It’s a series that keeps me looking to see what’s next. For me, the scratchy treatment looks cool the first 2 or 3 viewings, but doesn’t wear well. And it makes me want to see the tones … clearer. But that’s just me. I know those treatments are popular. Cool post.

I love 6 8 & 10. The girl's glasses (in #10) have a very distinctive logo which I've seen in a news photo in the last week or so; bearing in mind the context of your pictures, I was wondering if they were taken at a very sad event recently in the Boston area? (perhaps my mind is playing tricks… old age you know… …nurse! nurse! )

The OOF ones don't really say anything to me.
Of the others, #9 made me laugh. It's just the kind of juxtaposition that I love and besides that, it's a very rich image.
I'm going to stun a lot of people - of not everyone. But I believe the treatment really adds to this series and makes it far more interesting than it would otherwise be.

The last series, TT, are most excellent and, like B.D. said, the treatment makes the shots. Very nicely done.
(kinda ruin my thought about zen-like dreamdiving...

i cant expect everyone to see what i see, im actually that happy with the first three shots that im going to fork out for prints.
(everything looks so sweet on large prints!)
ancient film and some old chemicals on some paper....that sounds interesting to me!
i had a few hours at school (around 25 years ago) with photo, i still remember the smell/taste of the chemicals.
i know im going to explore the analog again some day=) yeah the logo, i was thinking mcdonalds at first.. but thats probably because im from norway and the shots are taken in Oslo
about your thoughts, "a very sad event", that was the feeling i had when going through the shots,
6, 8 and 10 are taken on the same day at the same place.
but it was far from a "sad event", (unless you was voting for the other guys) it was the prime minister of norway presenting
both the new and old ministers as they just won the election the second time for another 4 years.
everyone wanted a piece of the action:

i try learn something new every day (ok, thats not really true)
but thank you for the update!
the light didnt work with me in all the shots so i think some of them looks a bit flat.
also, some looks better in sepia while others looks best in the clean b&w.
here are the last set without any .. pharting.
i think that only the first one of these looks good enough in pure black and white.

im happy you like the serie Richard, it was an impulse thing.
we decided to re-shoot this in another location with a "old-time swimsuit" when the summer comes back.
then hopefully i can come up with a useful "B&W-only" set.
