Customizing Journal help

My About page is already an html-only gallery, but my guestbooks aren't. And while I like the "in your face" look of the new journal style, that doesn't work well (for me) as the top of a guestbook. So I'll probably convert those to html-only galleries.

So I am new and was having the HARDEST time trying to figure out why I can't get my "journal" galleries to look like other peoples about me or pages etc...

Denise - question - where could I find the code to change the caption background from the dark gray to light gray like you said? The dark gray stands out weirdly on my site in my guestbook.

Also - I have looked all over and am obviously missing threads with info on how to html a gallery to make an about me page. Where would I find that?

Smugmug recently had a complete revamp of the Journal Style. The old style is still available as the Journal (old) style.

To add to this, Journal (old) is only available in the customize gallery screen, not in the style menu.
