#36 Creepy - first time challenge entrant - C&C please

I read about this challenge yesterday and was attending a Halloween parade in the evening. Thought these might fit the theme.

The first one was posed. The second was a candid snapshot.

"Trick or Treat"

post-processing - worked the curves in PS and applied a warm filter.






"Evil Eye" or "Alone in a Crowd"

post-processing - cropped from original & adjusted levels, tint & sharpness within iPhoto

Of these the 1st is has definite creep factor, however the blown highlights on the chin and the hair below it detract from it (imo), so you may want to tone those down.

The eyes in 1 are very freaky---I agree with the rest, work with the blown out parts and you have something.

If the eye in #2 was staring right at you it would be creepy---it had potential, but 1 is much stronger.

Thanks for the feedback (and the welcome ). This is where my Photoshop knowledge or lack of knowledge shows through.

Here's an attempt to fix the burnouts sections.

The burn areas recovery may be a little bit overdone. A bit more contrast may enhance the creepy mood.

I liked the highlight around the eye in the original & would suggest just taking down the 2 blown highlights rather than the whole thing.

Not to make your life difficult:D --but when you fixed the blown parts you lost the creepy eyes--which IMO was the best part.

So I'm having to "Paint" in some color into the blown-out areas and getting the color and amount just right is tricky. I applaud anyone who has that skill.

Of the 2nd set, I like #1 the best. The blown parts don't bother me at all.
