If we have time to go over the bridge to the up (this would be a three day kinda thing) there are some nice waterfalls.
Candid people shots
And plenty of other things.
Those are just dates I was thinking off possibly going on. If we wanted to make it later in oct to try and get colors, or earlier we could do that as well. Anyone interested? When would you be interested in going? The Forts will be open till Oct 9th (their last day of the season). So if you want pictures inside the forts and what not (usually a good thing) we would have to go before then. Though if there aren't any colors then, there could always be another weekend road trip just to drive around and get colors if people wanted. Anyways, Anyone game?
Oh and there's lots of great places to :eat.
Usually fall colors begin in mid-September and run through the end of October, peaking at varying times throughout the state depending on frost conditions. Except for the far western quarter of the Michigan Upper Peninsula which peaks from mid-September to early October, all other areas in the U.P. peak from late-September to mid-October. The expected peak color for the Lower Peninsula is from late September to late October. Of course, this is an "expected" time-frame. The actual timing is up to Mother Nature! We'll open this page for posting around the 2nd week of September each year. Enjoy the show!
