Interesting or just a snapshot?

What makes it a little more interesting is when I scroll down to just above his welding helmet (known as a bucket), it tidies the shot up and makes it look more interesting than snapshot. Same with the bottom.

Way more than a snapshot. Like abstract art in motion with lights! I like it.

Nice shot! I think some cropping (either in the frame or post-processing) to get the main point of interest away from the centre…

…and a slightly longer shutter speed (and a smaller stop) to get a nice shower of sparkly thingies! thumb.gif

In the US it's known as a hood.

It has some nice color to it, but I agree that a longer shutter will give it a different look, can't be sure if it would be better or not.
Don't let the sparks hit your lens, they'll embed in the glass.
I'd like to see the art work when it's done. It looks interesting. (I work with and weld pipes)

Thanks for the replies. This is actually a self portrait. If I ever finish this piece it will be 10 feet tall and plumbed for both fire and water. A flaming fountain of sorts.
I tried longer shutter speeds but could not seem to keep the shot from being completely over exposed, even at f22.

The tight f stop makes the sparks nice and clean. More open would give your sparks ghosting. This photo rocks.
