Send to animoto from keyword results page

If I try to send a keyword results page to animoto
( for example http://pbolchover.smugmug.com/keyword/dordogne09best )
it actually sends all of the photos in the gallery that contains the first photo in the keyword results.

This is an extremely irritating bug, since I imagine that most of my animoto videos will be based on keyword results, not on individual galleries.

Sorry about that. I don't think anyone thought of using the feature that way for this first release. Its not really a bug as it just never worked that way. But I agree that would be a very useful way to use it. I will send this to the team working with Animoto and see if it is something we can do.

As an interim measure, perhaps you should disable the "Make animoto video" from the options in the keywords result page. (But please make sure that it is a very interim measure :-) )


Some of my thoughts for videos include:
* Favourite photos containing specific people
* Favourite photos of certain locations
* Favourite photos from a specific trip (as opposed to the whole gallery)

All of these can be easily identified by the keywords that I am already adding to my photo albums.

I often allow my viewers to see several views of the same trip with different numbers of photos, for example http://pbolchover.smugmug.com/2008/Yellowstone-National-Park , which is accomplished via keywords. Using these pre-existing keywords to select the photos for the animoto video is a very natural progression.

Thanks for reporting this! Doc is right in saying it was not designed to work this way, but as we continue to see the cool ways SmugMug people use Animoto, we can fine-tune the integration with each subsequent update.

Please let us know if you find any other weird bugs/features you'd like/etc.

We continually check out this forum, but also know that writing to photography@animoto.com results in a real, live person (sometimes me, for instance :-) answering you!
