hehe thats a nice shot richard!
nice title too.. hmm..im not sure if a want more of his legs?
anyway, the amount of dof is just right and the kid are sharp.
i'v been going through the latest issue of b&w-magazine
so i got a Helen Levitt feel when i look at your shot.
i think the way he holds his arms reminds me of a shot she took.
Really wonderful image, Richard - on all levels. And no, you didn't need the legs. In fact, the slight flare of the t-shirt at the bottom of the frame plays off against the flare of the wedding dress. This is a real winner!
Nice juxtaposition and composition. Maybe I'm missing the real story here, though.
I'm afraid I can't be of much help this time--I don't know either.
It wasn't actually a wedding. A photographer was taking location shots with the couple, something that happens fairly often where I live. After wasting many opportunities in the past, I finally learned not to make the bride and groom the focus of the shot, but to look for ways to have them appear as part the background to something else, which gives more interesting results.
I found this image to be disquieting, almost disturbing. The kid was not happy, and the crossed arms must mean something, but I'll be damned if I know what. Glad to hear that some of you liked it.
