Smugglr and Flickr tags with numbers in them

on Flickr, I have tagged each photo with the month and the year - example: "Oct09", "Oct08", etc.
When I used Smugglr to migrate from Flickr, the tags all came across as just "Oct", so all of my pictures with tags that begin with "Oct" are all using the same keyword regardless of the year they were taken.
Known issue? Is there a solution or workaround?
