Went on vacation last week and just got to viewing some of the 1100 shots I took. One of the first shots processed and thought I'd share it. This is on Beale Street in Memphis, TN. Playing catchup so I haven't had much time to do processing yet, let alone commenting here as of late.

Thanks for looking,

This one looks better to me Chris then your wasp. I have the impression that the wasp is now a bit oversharpened (white dots on the black parts).
The neon sign is just right... Love the colors in it, interesting shot...
Will look forward to more of your trip pics...

    Hi ..

Great lighting and a nice soft reflection in the adjacent window. This photo has great atmosphere and makes me want to see more photos of the area. I like the simple composition and the weight given to the sign in the frame.

    Very nice

I like this one too. It's rather cool for reasons I can't really pick out. Nice job!

Thanks Photocat, Michal, Richard and John
I was rather excited when I saw the shot on the computer and I'm glad I'm not the only one. My Brother-in-law plays a bit of blues guitar and wanted pictures of him on Beale street in Memphis. He finally built up enough courage to play after 5 beers. I have a fair bit of shots down there but most need quite a bit of processing (low light with high iso). I'm looking forward to processing some of them and I'll share them here.

This shot required only some cropping and some minor sharpening, no levels or color corrections were made. Blow my doors off, I don't think I have ever had a shot that didn't need a little correcting.

I do appreciate the comments. Sometimes I get wrapped up in the personal moment of a photo that I tend to loose the photographic sight of said photoheadscratch.gif. Not sure if that was clear, but I'll go with it.

    Thanks again,
    Chris

    Hey Chris
    wave.gif

This is too much of a coincidence. I currently live in Memphis and I am relocating to Reno.

    Love the shot BTW.

    Hi Fred,
What you don't see here is the watch battery that's powering the sign and the "N" scale train that runs around the blockrolleyes1.gif. This is my fastest lens and I love it. I use it for much of my walk around shooting, from macro to infinity. After researching the lens, I bought the camera to match the lens.

    Thanks for the comments Fred,
    Chris

The humidity there almost killed me, but I thoroughly enjoyed my visit there. Let me know when you get into town if you'd like me to show you around a bit. Lots of photo ops here, just not enough time. DTR-Mavrick is also a local here. We've been talking about doing a local shoot sometime when our schedules coincide. The more, the merrier.

    See you then,
    Chris
OH, forgot to mention that there's lots of Neon here (Casinos)clap.gif.
