Why did this bird cross the bridge

Because it was built about 5 years ago, connecting the Isle Of Palms directly with Mt Pleasant, for many reasons. None of those reasons were for the welfare of a single bird.

Watch The Birdie.......

I could stand in the same place and take these photos, all I had to do was turn my body. Below the bird is a bit more difficult to see compared to the bird in the above photo.

It is a nice bridge. Bikers, joggers, cars, hurricane evacuations, no delays when the other bridge is stuck open......... It is beautiful, below is the beauty of the bridge, no birds there, sorry.

I wish it had never been built, though it is a convenience. What will the birds do when their habitat is consumed by "the convenience of people"?

I have other photos of many different birds from yesterday, on the bridge, July 12, 2005. The marsh belongs to them, and their stories will come another day.

After all is said and done, it is the sweet tea.

Wow Ginger. You've got water and a highway running through your back yard. I feel I've missed out. I don't have a highway. :D Gotta love a highway through nature. (not). I find getting shots where the man made background isn't in the picture more challenging than shooting the BIF. Too many buildings and bridges around here. I'm guessing there was a cold beer on the other side of the road???
