Suggestion: Rotate Tool Interface Improvement

I use this tool a lot because my old cameras don't have an orientation bit recorded with the file. I have to manually rotate each of my images that need it.
My workflow is to open two windows side-by-side of the gallery and have the right one set to right rotate and the left one set to left rotate. I scroll both screens at the same level and scan each row of photos for anything that needs rotation. I click the appropriate image in either the right or left window depending on the rotation needed. At the end, I submit both screens.
To avoid having to use the rotation screen multiple times like this, each individual image could have places on them that you can click for each rotation functions.
For example, you could click on the left side of the photo and it would toggle a green dot on that side of the photo indicating it will rotate left when submitted. Similarly, you could click on the right for right rotation, the top for 180, and the bottom for mirror. (Top and bottom could be swapped if that's more logical).
At the end, you would have dots on the images that will be rotated and based on their location, you will know what type of rotation they will have. This way, you can choose all your rotations in one session rather than having to use the tool multiple times for each type of rotation.
Anyone else like this, or am I the only one dealing with this?

I love the idea! I don't know about the dots though, but the general idea that every picture in a grid can be rotated individualy is awesome!

This doesn't appear to be posted to Uservoice, do you wanna, or should I?

As far as putting it on uservoice. I want to see if we can get support here for the idea, then put it on uservoice. Otherwise, it will just be another great idea with no votes...

Not mine either! I just think it should be consistent with what is already there. Here's my take:
Think the blue and grey buttons in the new gallery settings, blue indicating "selected".
If you'd want to use icons for these buttons we also already have them, in the "Rotate photos" UI:
However, I would prefer text on buttons, looks much cleaner. So I would put four buttons under each thumbnail with "Left", "Right", "180" and "Mirror" on them. You could also use "90º", 180º", "270º" and "<Flip". Selected button turning blue. Ofcourse, none of the four buttons can be pre-selected like in the case of Gallery settings. And if you'd be willing to use the Th thumb instead of Ti, i think you could even make these buttons a fly-out from the thumb's longedge. Ofcourse then you'd have tho change the styling to that of the fly-out already used in Smugmug view. But now I've thought of it for too long so I'm over-complicating it... :uhoh:D
I'd vote!

I likey... thumb What we both are presuming here though is the shape of a photo to be something like 2:3, when it could have any dimensions you could imagine. Stuff like Fly-outs from the thumb and buttons surrounding the thumb are probably no good. It's hard stuff...
