Photo sequence

Is there a way to upload photos so that they appear in a specific sequence?
When I upload a bunch of photos in the sequence that I want them, they show up in random order in Smug Mug.
Please advise.

    Hi Bob,

    If you go to the gallery you uploaded to and click on Tools>This Gallery>Gallery Settings then scroll down to the Look and Feel Section you can select "Auto sort:" By date uploaded and choose either Ascending or Descending for the "Sort Direction:". Give that a try and let us know if you have any problems.

    I chose By filenames. This is the order that they appeared in this album:1-10-11-12-13-14-15-18-2-3-4-5-6-7-8. (I had 18 photos in this album). This is the pattern that all photos are added to any album.
    The only way I can see to get a correct sequence is to name your jpgs in this pattern which is a pain in the you know what.
    Choosing By date uploaded, By date modified, etc. will cause a random selection in the album.

    Computers see numerics like we see alphabets. So the #1 will always sort ahead of the #2. The way to avoid this is to number your files in multiple digits. You may notice that the very first picture you took with a digital camera was not 1.jpg but rather, 0001.jpg.

    If you expect to have less than 999 photos, go with three digits and begin with 001.jpg, 002.jpg etc. More than 1000? Four digits, etc.

    I've been having trouble with this, too, and I think it's relatively new thing. I have a group of settings that I use for uploading new galleries, but even though I have that set as "arrange by date taken" they'll still show up scrambled in the gallery. So I've been having to go back and arrange again once the gallery's all uploaded. =/

    I'll try that the next time I add photos to an album.
    I up loaded multiple jpgs to several albums using this method: 1-10-11-12-13-14-15-16-17-18-19-2-20-.............. . I then chose "By Filenames", and I got the correct sequence.
    BTW When I upload jpgs to my web host the sequence is as above.:D

    how does one use the arrange mode if what you want to rearrange are on separate pages. I got it fixing one page, but get a brain cramp when trying to arrange from page to page.

    Switch to the Thumbnails view and click on the checkbox to display all thumbnails on the same page to do the arrangement. Then, switch back when done.
