Practicing With The 7D

Tried putting servo and the AF zone system to work tonite. This is a pretty big crop cause I couldn't get anything close.

    For farther away flight shots I'd use spot AF and for closer just the center focus point (spot off). You have to enable Spot AF in the menu so it will be available with the M-Fn button.

    So far I fail to see the value of the AF zones....ne_nau.gif, for bird shooting anyway.

    I agree with what you said for perched birds, but I am finding that for BIFs at a distance, the zone actually works well. I used the center zone for these, and although they are not great (because of the distance and crop) the AF was fast and accurate with the zone.:D
