Here are a few shots from yesterday's Rhode island State Cross Country championship races - tough lighting condition with low bright sun and lots of shadows. This finish line was completely in the shade - for the first time (in the boys race) I used fill flash (high speed synch) I avoid flash like the plague on runners - too many reflective surfaces - I have included a few of these shots for C and C. The problem with fill on moving objects is the variation on power with respect to distance as you cannot make adjustments between every shot when you have several hundred runner coming straight at you over the space of 5-minutes!!
