I knew, of course, that trees and plants had roots, stems, bark, branches and foliage that reached up toward the light. But I was coming to realize that the real magician was light itself.

Congrats Kelly,
Nice win, pretty much a runaway; and there were some other nice shots in there as well. It's a self portrait too, isn't it? Did you use a mirror to help compose the shot?
Congrats again,
Chris
A picture is but words to the eyes.
Comments are always welcome.
Certainly was my fave of the top 10 and, by the looks of it, a fave of many others. Keep up the good work. You sure are on your way to a great career in this field.

Thank you, and my Canon A95 does have an adjustable playback screen so I can see what I'm doing from any angle.
Kelly.... please tell me......
... that you have more than a few months experience. (your smugmug home page). It took me that long to figure out how to remove the lens cap. And another few months of developing blurry images of a big eye ball to figure out which end of the camera to look in.
Regardless. A few months. A few decades. Well deserved. Look forward to seeing more of your work in the future.
Awesome job Kelly. I knew you would win the challenge as soon as I saw your pictures. You have a great eye for composition and a great artistic flare. Congratulations!!

Just goes to show it's the operator not the camera.
