How long to wait for Watermarks

I have seen this asked a few times, so I feel dumb asking again, but I am a new to the watermarks :dunno

So I uploaded at 2009-11-09 16:26:39 PST and it is now about 18:00PST so basically 90 minutes later, not everything in the gallery http://bradfordbenn.smugmug.com/People/RachelMattWedding/10266996_WYVdD#708584236_kh9eH is watermarked. However what makes my head really hurt is the order does not seem to make sense or progress at all.

Image #5 does not have a watermark
Image #7 through 14 does not have a watermark

I checekd the image size to make sure it is larger than 800 pixels, but I am still not seeing it yet. Is there a "watermark" log so that I can see if it is complete?

Yes, feel free to tell me I need to improve the watermark... It was done quickly.

There's no watermark log that you can access... right now, there are only 45 photos awaiting watermarking.

Let us know in a little bit if they're still not done, by writing the help desk, please.

I have had this problem for the past 10 days when changing watermarks, I have been uploading with one watermark for safety then changing watermark via bulk based on Portrait/Landscape and NEVER had a problem with it. Never more than a half hour, ever doing this. Every gallery I have uploaded and changed in the last 10-12 days has had an issue with the watermarking change. I takes at least 2 hours to finish and sometimes it doesn't always take to everything. Last Monday on one of my galleries it did not finish some of the pictures after 6 hours and then I had to do it again.

I contacted Support last week and was told nothing was going on, then last night I was giving this response..

"We will keep an eye on the situation but as I said before, when the system gets busy, watermarks are a lower priority service for the system to perform so it will take longer for them to appear."

Then after expressing my frustration I was told that

"We are really sorry about the delay, but earlier today when you were working there were roughly 14,000 watermarks that had to go through, so it is going to take some time. I'll pass your concerns on up to the higher powers so they'll be aware of your concern in the priority level."

I am a PRO and watermarks and changes should never be a LOW priority.. What is going on, I wouldn't care but I have been using this workflow for HS sports for the last 2 years and never had an issue. Funniest part I am getting real picky in the last month or so about my images more so than normal and my galleries have been much smaller than in the past.

I'm having trouble with this too. I've used Tools -> Gallery Settings -> Multiple Galleries -> selected "All of my galleries" and then the appropriate watermark. I did that yesterday and I couldn't see it appearing on any of my galleries today (I did some spot checking).

Thinking something was wrong, I re-did the watermark and resubmitted everything. Now, given the topic of this thread, I'm worried too. How long should we expect it to take to get through all of our galleries?

Hi Rob,

Sorry for the troubles. Changing the watermarking setting using the 'multiple galleries' option or quicksettings in the 'gallery settings' section will not update any watermarks for existing photos. It only applies to new uploads - that's why the short explanation to the right says "Auto watermark from now on?".
To update the watermarks on any of your existing photos, you have to go to the Tools button within the gallery > many photos > more > watermarking tool and re-apply the watermark of your choice to all photos.

It's also mentioned in the note on quick settings on our help page.

I hope this clear things up. I'm afraid, there is currently no way to bulk re-apply watermarks to multiple galleries.

Thanks for the answer, but that's kind of a pain given the number of galleries I have out there.
