Both of these were shot on the Tama-Gawa River about 2 hours East of Mount Fuji. Even that far away, the area was beautiful! Thanks for the kind words, and your insect i.d. skills are pretty amazing!
The first one is what we in the US call an Asian Longhorn Beetle and it is devastating communities in New Jersey and where I live, here in Massachusetts. It is an insect we do Not want to see in the wild!

#2 - orbweb spider- looks a bit similar to the orchard spider in the US.
