Slideshow Dead in Full Screen Mode (Flash Player)

When I click on the slideshow button, the message about
clicking ESC to return to normal mode pops up. My slideshow
images never do however. I have seen this periodically before.
Is the slideshow broken right now (Thursday night)?

I'm on Vista 64.
It "works" in Internet Explorer but not Firefox 3.0.15 and not
Safari 4.0.3

In IE, the slideshow runs within a maximized window, but this is
inferior to the normal "uncluttered" appearance of the properly operating
slideshow under Firefox.

Same here. None of my full-screen slideshows are working in either Firefox 3.5 or IE7.

    It Is?
Hmmm - wonder what I may have done wrong? NOT working yet for me.
If I click on Slideshow from my Gallery, the first picture shows up, without its caption, but it never changes.
If I set my gallery to be in Slideshow mode, it works, unless I click on Full Screen, in which case it just stops on the first picture & does not continue the slideshow.

    Any suggestions?
    Thanks

Which gallery do you see this in. I see a long pause on the first image, but then it starts advancing.

    Thanks for the response.
That "long pause" you refer to has lasted thus far about 10 minutes - I assume the slideshow is not going to start up any time soon. Just that one picture without caption.
And it does that with Every gallery.

    Using Mac with Firefox 3.0.15

Also experiencing slideshow death, was messing around with my bio text for a while until I found this thread. So far running firefox 3.5 or IE 6 it is still quite dead.

You have a number of javascript errors that you need to fix before we can see what else might be causing a problem:

Remove the %0 at the end of your top javascript and then get a fresh copy of the whole code for InsertStretchySlideshow. You are missing some of the code.

Interesting. It's working on IE8, Firefox 3.0.15 and Safari 4.0.3 on
    my Vista 64 machine.

Thanks! Completely replaced the contents of the Top Javascript box and that appears to have resurrected it!

Any idea what would have caused this to happen? I don't exactly just go and start typing randomly on my advanced customization page (at least as far as I know headscratch.gif)

    I'm lost.
    How can you see this?
How does one find this to fix it?

With the free developer tools for either IE or Firefox (I use Firebug for Firefox which is really easy to use), you can see exactly where there are javascript errors on any given web page.

So one has to have Developer skills now to use SmugMug?
Until a few days ago I was able to post my pics & use Slideshows. Suddenly I can't. That's all I want to be able to do - I can't get into programming.

Also, I still can't understand how you can see javascript errors on MY computer?

    Of course not.

jfriend was using some diagnostic tools that show errors in your code. You just have errors in your customized code on your site, Gil. Jfriend is trying to help you. All good? ear.gif

Appreciate the help, but my eyes glaze over when I see I have to do things with Code, etc. I am at a total loss. Not only do I not understand what to do, I also do not understand how the code got that way, etc.

Two graduate degrees, and several publications in prestigious scientific journals, but I'm still lost. It's just way over my head.

    EDITING TO ADD:

Did someone fix it for me? It IS working now, and I didn't do anything.
    Thanks!!!
