A good friend of my wife's from high school contacted me about photographing her wedding. She found herself in the position of needing to push up the date due to her mother's health. Her mother was a breast cancer survivor, but had a relapse and was not doing well. Her wedding was September 18th 2009, her mom passed away this week.

Because of my "proof only" production I was able to turn around prints in an album by October 16th.

C&C welcome.

Wow Jason... way to go! Thank goodness you were able to accommodate their schedule, and then knock it out for them so fast. It is hard for me to not pick the ones of Mom as my faves knowing the story behind this. I especially like the last one with the side lighting. Was that bounced? Lots of smiles from her and that tells the story for sure. The ring shot is very nice also. I like the wrinkle on the typical by putting the grooms ring OOF in the background. Great job and a VERY touching story. thanks for sharing. I'm sure your wife's friend is very happy.

    Thanks Matt,

That is all ambient. It was really a pleasure to do it for them, the couple actually lives farther away than the parents, so I hand delivered the album to the parents, and looked at the pictures with them, which was also a delight.

Wonderful pictures. thumb.gif Thanks for sharing them and the story behind them.

I am still in the somewhat basic learning stages of photography and my wife asked me whether I would ever want to shoot weddings. I told her no, because the pressure would be great that something goes wrong and you mess someone's big day up. I imagine in a situation like this, the pressure is even greater.

Then again, I am a litigation attorney and do not feel a lot of pressure on a day-to-day basis - probably because I usually know what I am doing. Maybe after I learn more I would feel the same way about shooting weddings.

    /stream of conscious though over

Good job and as a non pro photographer but a guy who has a nice business going and believes in customer service, you did it with content, follow up and delivering.

Guess who's going to be getting all the referrals?
