Finding a sponsor

Hello,

I am wondering if any of you are members of one or many of the photographers' associations out there, and if so how you went about finding sponsorship. I do not personally know a member but I am interested in joining. Is it acceptable to simply email a member and kindly ask if they'd look at my work, or are members swamped by such requests and annoyed by them?

Why not list which associations that you wish to be apart of and a link to your work. Let the members find you. Most working pros have enough emails to go through each day.
