We just got back from B&N with the new HP book.

Here is my daughter getting stuck in. They gave her a poster and some geeky HP specs as well as the book. As you can see, the specs didn't last long without breaking.

Portrait taken in natural light from the window to her right. Soft effect thanks to the Virtual Photographer plug-in. I keep forgetting I have this and it has some nice effects. I need to use this on some of my brides.

rolleyes1.gif So it is a world wide epidemic then ?

My daughter was 9th in line for it yesterday morning & walks around the house with it in her hands because she knows if she puts it down...someone else will pick it up.

At our local store people were waiting in line at 7.00 last night so they could get in the store at a minute after midnight.

We just walked in and bought it this morning. Much better idea.:):

It always seems to me that these long series run out of steam after a while, probably the pressures to produce the next volume to a certain schedule as much as anything.

I'm looking forward to the next offering from George R R Martin. It's been years since the previous book. Looks as though half of the next one might be released in October.

The 5th book has been the best so far.

I was dissapointed at the length & font size in the 6th. I'm only on page 44 though. :)

Andy the ending is very very horrible, can easily understand why she would be crying. It gave me the male version of the crying feeling. I had to break something when I was done reading it.

    Hi David,
Nice job on the portrait. I would guess this scene is being played out is so many households. Whether one likes the books or not, it does get kids to read which is quite an accomplishment nowadays.

And no, I don't read this series (no time), but I do enjoy the movies.
Thanks for the story and photo,
    Chris

Thanks Chris and Lee. I like how the portrait ended up. Not my usual style at all, but I'm going to use it more often.

Well she has finished the book now, time to get something for myself. I usually buy ebooks from Fictionwise.
