Anyone have a reliable vendor for "save the date" magnets? I have a client who wants them but smugmug doesn't have any bulk pricing.

    I'm getting mine from here.

No complains so far. They're fairly fast, have good colors & quality. You might want to order some of their samples, so you can feel the thickness & quality though.

thanks Agnieszka! Do you provide envelopes for these usually or do you do a s-t-d card and put these in with that.

Oh, I don't really know what the couples do with them, I just design the magnets (no envelopes included). I'd assume they write a nice ~4x6 card, and put the card together with the magnet in an envelope .. ne_nau.gif

My cousin just sent me one for her wedding next year. The magnet is tucked in the left side of the card (not a folded card; kind of like a postcard announcement inside an envelope). The card has slits where the corners of the magnet go. The right side of the card has has the announcement on it.

I just read what I wrote and that looks pretty painful to decipher. If you think so too, I can take a picture of it headscratch.gif

Nope thats awesome. Postcard sized card with a magnet mounted in slits, all sent in an envelope. That's great, thanks!

I made these for my wedding [no photo of course]. They were mounted on a piece of yellow cardstock with 4 slits near the corners. Sorry it's small, it's a cell pic.

Like Angie, I use Overnight for most of my save the date & place cards etc. I have also used Vista Print from time to time but they are hit and miss.

Does anyone know of a good source for individual magnets and in low quantities? I want to provide each portrait with a free magnet from the session, that will also include my contact info. The sites ive found so far are usually bulk, so 50 magnets the same. There is walmart and sams, but it is $4 each for a 3x4 or $5 for a 4x6, which increases the packaging cost by a fair amount. The simple answer is to increase prices to cover this but I just did that and dont want to do it again. :)

I dont knwo the quality of the lab that walmart/sams uses, these are ordered out, if it was in the local sams it would be ok.

Don't get them from Black River Imaging. The quality is horrible.
