1st Senior shoot - My niece

I have been hoping to get some business in the "Senior Shoot" category, and since I didn't have anything to show clients, I called my niece, who will be graduating in 2010, and asked if she would like to have her picture taken. She said she would love to.

So we all met over in her hometown and just walked around to see what we could come up with. We were joined by her sister and her boyfriend.

I wish she didn't have that hot pink nail polish :cry

Wow these are very nice.

1 is nice except for the very top - wish it had the grass going all the way up to top

2 - 4 Really love these shots

5 I like it but it makes her look a little muscular - If she's an athlete it is probably great

6 Yeah a little more light would be nice but it looks like she is having fun
You could PS the nail polish and a tighter crop might help see more details

7 nice but seems a little too bright and I would prefer a straighter image using the door or lines on wall as a guide

8 is one of my favorites even though her eyes could be brighter

9 and 10 are fine just not my favs

11 nice pose but needs a little more light on his right side (our left)

If this is an example I would expect you to get a lot of clients. Good Luck.

#8: Have her look straight into the camera lens, and tighten up the crop just a little bit!

…Magic!!! …heart stopping! …best of the bunch! Mmmm! Gorgeous!

(don't care much for the bloody "railroady" ones - too gimicky, and remind me about that theory thingy which Darwin was always on about)

Very nice series!!! Congrats on your first senior shoot.

She is adorable with nice expressions and beautiful smile. My only wish is that she varied her expressions as basically all the pictures have the same smile on her face.

Looks like a fun shoot, lots of connection between you too and personality captured.

Overall very nice! A few of these are too "warm" on my monitor (2,4 and 5) making her teeth look orange.

#5 - She is a cheerleader

#7 - That is why comments are so valuable. I didn't even notice how out of line it was. I'll fix the original.

#11 - That is just a crop form the pic of them walking down the tracks. The light is coming from my only reflector. I guess I need another.

Wil - #8 - That is one where we were taking a break and I just caught her off guard with available light, no reflector. One of my favs too.
As for the "railroady" ones, well we were just walking around and there the tracks were. It was hard not too.

At first the one with her boyfriend was her fav, but I have recently learned he dumped her

Josh - I wish I could say I actually posed her that was. It was a lucky candid. In most of the others she went into "automatic smile mode" I got her to turn it off for #3

David - Yes it was fun and I agree, she is a looker.
At first I thought "wow, she smiles so nice for the camera" but after a while it was as you said, redundant.

Glynn - That's from my only reflector. I got it from Adorama...

Ah! So that explains exactly why she looks so relaxed! In all the other pictures, she's posing, she's tense and she's tight, but in #8 she looks totally relaxed, and absolutely stunning! Get her to totally ignore the camera, even when she's looking directly at it…

…now there's the rub!
