My brother and I were lucky enough to get tickets to see the Space Shuttle Atlantis launch, from the NASA causeway. This is the closest public viewing point (6 miles from pad). The best I have is my Canon 70-300mm lens, so that's what I was using on my 20d.

Stunning images, made me feel like I could hear the Thundering Roar and excitement of liftoff.
I can't even imagine the experience, but through your images got a good feel for it:D:D:D
Very nicely done!!!!

Thanks everyone. It was definitely a cool thing to watch. To be honest though, by focusing on trying to get clear pictures you miss a bit of the experience. It's all so fast and within a minute, the shuttle is pretty much out of sight miles up in the sky.
