Some shots from the Air Show held at Nellis Air Force base last weekend. not sure why they look blurry on here though. color seems off on here as well. thoughts on the pics?

I use much faster shutter speeds for air shows - 1/1000 to 1/2000
1/300 or 1/400 is just too slow to capture jet speeds for a nice sharp pic, even prop planes require 1/1250

    (XSi with Canon 55-250 @ 1/1250 SS)

the color can be improved with post processing

I can't give any advice, other than that I agree on the faster shutter speeds. But I do think some of your shots are really nice--the 3rd one with the underside and the jet plume and the 9th one with the four-ship formation. Most of the formation shots look better to me than your others--perhaps you did use a different speed? You did a good job with the composition on most of them, with good angles and nice cloud background.

    Thanks for sharing--

thx for the info guys., i dont recall the shutter speed but it was not as fast as you guys suggested. the copies on my desktop look sharper and the color is better then those hosted on photobucket for some reason.

the EXIF date says 1/300, 1/400, etc. (get the firefox plug-in !) Don't know what lens you used but a higher shutter speed would have resulted in more detailed, sharper pics - which is generally true for any action/sports photos.

    if you use firefox https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3905
    similar plug-in for IE
but they often don't work because sites like Flickr strip out the data!
