Bulk Changing Sub-category?

Is there an easy way to bulk change Sub-category for a number of galleries in the same Category? I want to move a number of galleries from one Sub-cat to another and doing it one at a time is a bummer.

Rather then going to each gallery is would be quicker using SmugBrowser. Just
right each gallery and under properties? change the sub-cat.

Can't one use the new bulk settings changer to change just the sub-cat on a whole bunch of galleries?

Thanks, Allen. Knew that... but I only want to change some of the galleries so still have to change one at a time. A bummer.

You should use the new multiple gallery settings changer. Go to Gallery Options for any of the galleries that you want to change. Click on "Multiple Galleries". Put a checkmark by the category. Now set the category and sub-category as desired. Then, go to the Galleries drop-down and pick all the galleries you want to change. When done, hit "Save" and only the category and sub-category will be changed on all the galleries you selected.

John, you are a wealth of info! SM enhancements are growing so fast I can't keep up with them all. Thanks very much for your detailed instructions. Will give it a try soon. bowdown.gif

And this part's a real pain in the --- because for galleries under a subcategory it requires navigating 3 levels of menu to pick each gallery.

If someone has a lot of galleries in category or subcategory to change, this is a bit of help, but not much.

There needs to be a way to set or select all galleries under a category / subcategory en-masse so the user doesn't have to select each gallery individually.

Yes, it seems a bit of an oversight that they don't let you operate on a whole category or sub-category at once or let you pick multiple galleries at once with multi-select. But, believe me what they have now is a whole lot better than the way it used to be.

At least they have the "all galleries" option. rolleyes1.gif

All said and done, SmugBrowser was easiest, quickest way for me to change sub-cat of selected galleries ...by right clicking and changing properties.
