I am possibly booking a shoot with a dog breeder that would also like me to create mock ups for the kennel advertisements he would be putting in a few magazines...

I have my other fees for this client set but I have only done ad mock ups for friends and family and usually just do it for free, this person likes what I did for another breeder but I have no idea what to charge him or how to charge for the creation of the advertisement...

ANY suggestions or input would be greatly appreciated.

You need to book this like any other commercial shot. How big is the ad, how many ads will be run, the exposure of the ad, and figure it out from there. If it is a local magazine, newspaper with a small circulation 500 or 600 is pretty good.
If the ad is running in larger markets, 1000 to 1500 is pretty good.
