Are there any fans of this flash here? I'm not particularly a fan, but had a chance to play with it and find that this is a very decent flashgun to say the least.
It's powerful and loaded with features, but I find that its charm is in the little things :)... like low battery indicator, beep function, illuminated display, etc.

Here is my detailed review: Metz 58 Mecablitz AF-1 review

    fill light test
I've done quite some testing of the wink light, extended light and catchlight card:
    Metz 58 test

The wink light seems to be to harsh. I, however, think it's possible to get some use of it when shooting from greater than 6' distances.
The extended zoom... it does improve the lighting a bit, but I doubt that I'll ever use it.

Have they cured their flashguns of the complicated menue yet?
I remember that it was a pain to switch to manual and dial in the powers because of the deep menu.
