Help on "people" release issues

I'm thinking of doing some shots of a particular event very much like Chris's Pebble Beach Concours event and creating a gallery where folks can purchase shots of themselves in the event. How does one get round the issues of posting people's faces on the net without a release? What would happen if suppose some agent purchased a candid shot of a person and then used it in some way.. I'd be interested to know how you got round this Baldy.. did you use a password or issue releases?
